We just learned that Grant had passed away.  Susan and I want to let you know how much we loved and admired Grant.  He and Marilyn were always so kind and supportive of us when we were students in Berkeley.  You felt like family away from family.  You hold a special and very fond place in our hearts and in our memory.  

I was especially privileged to serve with Grant in the bishopric during our final yeart in Berkeley.  What a joy that was!  I saw his unfailing kindness and cheerfulness every week as we met together.  It was an honor to be his counselor.

Our prayers are with you during this time of separation--even in far away Brazil.  We love you, Marilyn, and your dear, dear family.
