Judith D. Orullian, age 87, of Millcreek, Utah passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Judith was born June 29, 1934. Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to the most wonderful woman we have ever had the pleasure to know and love. Describing Judy to anyone unlucky enough to have never met her is quite simple. To know her was to love her and to know her was to instantly be loved by her. She was kind, funny, spiritual, and so very full of joy. She lived to laugh. She lived for her faith. She lived for her family.
Agnes Judith Orullian was born to Robert G. Dust and Melvina E. Urry on June 29th, 1934. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah with three sisters and one brother, who she loved dearly.
Judy enjoyed being with her dad at his book bindery, climbing the poplar trees to read a good book, and playing pitcher for her softball team full of friends. At 19, she met Daniel Orullian and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1954. Children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren filled her life over the years and she cherished every moment with them. And, oh did we cherish every moment with her. It didn’t matter if we were sharing her favorite milk shake, sitting on the floor of her hair salon as she worked on a client’s perm, or flying off to another vacation with her…we were always content in her presence.
Her love for God’s earth ran deep. Whether it was pink roses, ocean waves, or a river running down the canyon, she taught us to love his creations. She was fancy and full of class, usually in high heels. Yet, she was also our “rugged grandma,” gutting fish at Island Park, hiking through mountains, and four-wheeling through the muddy hills of Maui.
Judy was the sun we all orbited around. She provided us happiness, comfort, safety, and acceptance. She made everything special. Family trips were full of warmth because she was there. Holiday traditions were meaningful and bright because she knew how to bring them to life. She never raised her voice, choosing instead to lead her family with patience and unconditional love. Her children recall finding her on her knees regularly.
As the day came for her to transition to a heavenly angel, most all of her posterity had the pleasure to sit at her bedside. She left us carrying that same joyful humor and demeanor she lived her entire life with, even telling us it was the best day because many of her “favorite people” were there.
God be with you til we meet again, our sweet angel. There are few who deserve to reside with him more.
Judy is survived by her children Randy (Melanie), Jayne (Scott), Ryan (Leslie), Robert (Erika), 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and many spouses she adored like her own.
