Keith Leon Burnham, born December 8, 1927, to Leroy and Erma Burnham. He grew up in the Capitol Hill area of SLC, and attended West High School. At the age of 16 he entered the Merchant Marines and traveled primarily in the Orient. He honorably served his country as a PFC in the Army, Company D, 31st Infantry Regime, and served as a frontline infantryman in the Korean conflict. Upon returning home he married his bride of 59 yrs, Joan Woolsey Burnham. Together they raised three children Candace Nordgren, Lonnie Burnham, and the late Joni Burnham. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was a strong willed and independent entrepreneur and manager. He owned and operated Jiffy Messenger Service, and late in his life A-Auto Lockout. For the majority of his career he was the manager of Ute Cab Company, Budget Rent-a-Car and Ute Ambulance Service. He served his community by helping establish the SL County Meals on Wheels Program as an Initial Director. He assisted with development of handicapped transportation standards for the State of Utah. He served as the National Director for the US Motor Coach Association, where he personally helped wright and pass legislation lowering tax on recreational vehicles, along with former Gov. Huntsman. He had compassion and caring for the people around him. He gave his time and money to the causes he was compelled to help. Graveside services will be held on October 8, 2012 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Located at 3401 South Highland Drive SLC, at 2:00 PM. The viewing will commence at 1:00 PM prior to the graveside service.
