Lois A McDonald

She graduated from East High School and shortly after married the true love of her life, Richard L. McDonald on Aug. 3, 1948. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Feb 18, 1964. They had a wonderful life together for 56 years, raising six children, traveling and being a good example of a true loving couple. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings. Mom was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her children: Christene Helpingstine; Linda (Lenny) Chiazzese; Sherie (Gregg) Davidson , CA; Rick (Laurie) McDonald; Pam (Chad) Godfrey and Lori (Duane) Conner; 26 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren who loved to visit their Grandma McDonald. She never missed their birthday or holidays. Mom was very close to her siblings and their spouses; Nola & Mel Bunkall, Kathryn & Roger Grooms, Marilyn Irvine and David (Carol) Olson. Also survived by Kathleen and Bill Phelps, Colleen McDonald and Saundra Olson.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rich, brother Benhart Olson, Dave and Bonnie McDonald, James Irvine, Ruby Olson and niece Shellie Irvine Allen.

We will miss mom with all our hearts and be only saddened for ourselves because we know she is now with Dad whom she truly missed for the last eight years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive. Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Mortuary and one hour prior to services on Friday.
