February 12, 1954 ~ November 21, 2017
After a year-long battle with leukemia, LouAnne left this world and took a piece of our hearts with her. She was born on February 12, 1954, to Drue Hunt and Madge Horsley Ross and grew up in Salt Lake City with her siblings Nancy, Sherman, and Glen. She attended Highland High School where she was a proud member of the Pep Club. LouAnne adored babies and toddlers and used her talents to obtain a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She worked with young children her whole career, including 20 years with Davis School District’s Early Head Start Program. She was passionate about child development and could care for little children in a way that few others can, which is why her daughters lovingly referred to her as the “baby whisperer.” LouAnne was completely dedicated to her daughters (Wendy, Aubrie, Laurie, and Jessica) and inspired them to set and achieve high goals. She was a doting grandmother (known as Grandma Lulu) to her grandchildren Evan, Austin, Andrea, Abril, and Sara, and we know she’s now giving all her love to her grandson who’s on the way. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She welcomed her sons-in-law Nate, Pablo, Chris, and Rob into the family with full love and acceptance, which is how she treated everyone. LouAnne had a love for dance and music—especially disco and Broadway. Her family cherishes the road trips with her, spent singing along to musicals, Abba, the Bee Gees, and any music that inspired her natural and carefree rhythm. She met the love of her life, Rennly, at their 25th high school reunion in 1997. They eventually married at their favorite getaway, the Homestead, on June 9, 2008. She lovingly took his children and grandchildren (Manessa, Paul, Isabelle, Rowan, Adeline, Fisk, Lincoln, Kai, Camden, Sara, and Jude) into her heart. LouAnne and Renn’s love grew strong over their many years together—especially during the last year spent fighting cancer, where Renn was by her side every step of the way. Thank you to the medical staff of the Huntsman Cancer Center BMT Unit and LDS Hospital Blood Cancer Team, who gave us an extra year with our dear mom, grandma, wife, sister, and friend. Services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive at 2 p.m. A viewing will also be held one hour prior to the services.
