Lu Ann Feller Owen, loving wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma, who we lovingly referred to as “Grammy” passed on peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on March 27, 2022.
She was born March 9, 1933, in Salt Lake City to Shirley Feller and Jennie Lucille Yeates Feller. After graduating from West High, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Salt Lake Transfer Company.
She married her sweetheart, Richard Lloyd Owen, on September 8, 1960. They were later sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple on the 10th day of February 1978 with their two sons, Jeffrey, and Kevin.
Her greatest joy in this life was spending time with and serving her family. She loved camping, bowling, dancing, painting, golfing, gardening, cooking, pizza parties, and especially animals. She did not like to travel but preferred her home as the destination of choice.
Lu Ann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day. She had a firm testimony in God, that Divine help was available through sincere prayer, and that families are forever. She served in various callings in the church and in the Jordan River Temple as a receptionist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Raymond. She is survived by her sons Jeffrey of Eden, Utah and Kevin of Sandy, Utah; her grandchildren, Carlie, Kauner, Mitchel, Davis (Nakyia), Micaela, Elijah, and Dallin; and her great grandchildren, Kida, Chase, Liam, and Stevie.
The family would like to thank the many family members, friends, ministers of the Cottonwood 9th Ward, Bristol Hospice, and BrightStar Care for the tremendous love and care she received. A special thanks to Therese Owen for her many late nights of loving care.
To honor her request, a graveside service will be held on Saturday April 2, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr., Millcreek, UT, 84106. Viewings will also be held at the same location on Friday April 1, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday April 2, 2022, from noon to 12:30 PM.
