Mark married the love of his life Chris, and they recently celebrated 50 years together. Mark is also survived by his children Michelle, Becky (Brandon), Angie (Matt); six grandchildren Carlie, Brayden, Bridger, Isabella, Brekk, and Braxx. Mark cherished his family so much! Mark graduated from Hillcrest High in 1965 and within months entered the Marine Corp where he spent four years, 2 tours to Vietnam, and received a purple heart. He was a big Utah fan! He was a plumber and eventually worked at the University of Utah Plumbing for 27 years, and when he retired, he worked at Home Depot in plumbing. Mark loved life and certainly was a fighter for that right. His humor was contagious and everyone he came in contact with loved him! Mark’s life will be celebrated with so many wonderful memories. He will be greatly missed!

A viewing will be held Monday October 28, 2019 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary located at 3401 S. Highland Dr. Salt Lake City, Utah 84106.

Mark was a real hero both in Vietnam and here in Utah.
From Khe Sanh Vietnam to Salt Lake Utah.

Google Khe Sanh to see why he had hearing problems later in life,

Yes he was a fearless fighter for right.

In his retirement he was a volunteer at the VA Hospital here in Salt Lake,

He was a Journeyman Craftsman in plumbing.

He will be missed by me

Oh Home Boy! You are such an example of strength in so many ways! I will miss you sooooooo much!! I am beyond thankful that you were here to come down the aisle beside me and to know my boys! I will never forget the trips to Smith’s and getting a treat or going to check out a side job and getting a treat. I love you Home Boy!

To the best dad ever! You taught by example. You were so kind and always willing to give the shirt off your back to help your family. You always loved to go somewhere even if it was just a ride in mom’s car. I only hope I can be the kind of parent and person you were to us. I love you and you will be greatly missed.

Oh Boppy. I love you so much! I remember staying over at Nana and Bop’s and getting McDonalds and dunford donuts in the morning and not wanting to leave. He came to every single meaningful event and i will cherish those memories for the rest of my life. I’m so appreciative of all of the love and kindness he showed me my whole life. He really is the best grandpa out there. Words really can’t explain just how wonderful he was and how lucky i am to have him as my guardian angel. I’ll love you forever!💗
