Marloe Gerrard Morgan

May 1, 1930February 16, 2021

Heaven has welcomed a generous loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather… Marloe Gerrard Morgan. Marloe passed away in his home, on February 16, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was 90 years old.

Marloe was born May 1, 1930 to Iris Bell and Mable Gerrard Morgan. He captivated the heart of Peggy Moss, while she was attending Granite High School, his alma mater. They were married on November 27, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple and recently celebrated 70 wonderful years together.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Marlene Moss Morgan; three children, Jeffrey Lynn Morgan (Marilee), Barbara Hegland (Lloyd), Janet Turley (Steven); nine grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Wilding (Wally), Janice Morgan, and brothers, Vernon Morgan (Carol), Keith Morgan (Kay). He is preceded in death by his son, Marloe David Morgan, his parents, and a sister, LaVell Bennion (Rex).

Marloe honored his membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a firm testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ, the importance of building an eternal family and exemplified the characteristics of honesty and integrity. He considered his calling as a Sealer in the Salt Lake Temple, to be his crowning blessing. He cherished his time serving in the temple and helping others to “Come Unto Christ.”

Dad, Grandpa, Grandpa-Great leaves a legacy of hard work, faithful service in his church callings; honorable service to his fellowmen and country…all while never forgetting his top priority and devotion…his family. He thoroughly celebrated and enjoyed life with them. The family wants to express gratitude to the CNS Home Health & Hospice group for their tender loving care in behalf of Marloe.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the Salt Lake Wilford Stake Center (3080 South Kenwood Street) at 11:00 am. Proper Protocol for Covid-19 restrictions will be followed.

The service will be broadcast via Zoom, as physical attendance will be limited to family only due to Covid restrictions.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Marloe’s temple service, please donate to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints temple construction fund.

I worked with Marloe (and with Dave Morgan and Steve Turley) at Winder Dairy for many years and admired so much his work ethic and his friendly attitude. He was so pleasant to be around and so helpful and hard working.

Deepest sympathies at this time to the family.

Dear Peggy and children, and Janice, Elaine and other siblings,
As I read Marloe's obituary I thought how true it was all that was written about him. He was one of the dearest people I've ever known. I worked with him quite often in the store at Winder Dairy, and we talked and laughed about many things but the thing I liked most was that I knew I could always trust what Marloe told me. It's been a long time since we really visited, but I'll always remember him as a special friend.
My love and sympathy to all of you dear people.

I was so grateful to know and see Brother Morgan serve so faithfully in the Salt Lake Temple along with the Recorder’s Office. I was honored and felt privileged to meet his family and dear sweet wife this past week. He was the such a kind and gentle man.

Memories of Marloe include Peggy as was stated beautifully in the funeral. I count myself, as does Joe, to be privileged to have had him for our Home teacher (and when we were lucky Peggy also!) He was kind and loving and always had a smile on his face. Marloe and Peggy have had many challenges over the years and as he would Home teach us we learned more about what’s really important in life by watching and listening to him than any lesson could give us but of course as a side line there was always a home teaching lesson! Our Amber remembers Marloe and Peggy teaching her the Temple class and loves you guys dearly also.
We pray for you all to have peace at this time and love you so much, Nora and Joe Anderson

Peggy and family,
My condolences to all of you. Marlow and I were class mates at Granite and was happy that he became part of the family. There are not too many of our class of 1948 still around.

Marloe was a wonderful Bishop to our family. He had gentle ways and a warm smile. My parents, Robert and Mary Barnes thought very highly of Marloe and Peggy.

While it has been many years since I have seen this great man my memories of him are as clear as ever. His kindness and humility were (are) absolutely REMARKABLE!!! He was (is) a true Morgan through and through as he evidenced, on a daily basis, the teachings of his wonderful parents. One of my favorite definitions of "character" fits him so well; "The real definition of a person's character is defined by what they leave growing". What Marloe has left is all around us and so glaringly obvious. "Thank you" for a life well lived.

Marloe was a great Brother that was always kind and loving. He has been a great example for me and all of our family. I remember in his younger years he always liked to whistle a tune or just whistle just to be happy. It was fun to go catering with him and Peggy.
