Michael Ray Pellum, age 71, born on April 4, 1951, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2022, at home in Midvale, UT. He served in the U.S. Army and as an adult, worked in the automotive industry. Mike was known for his caring, funny, genuine and loving nature. He will be remembered for his honesty, kindness, integrity, boisterous laugh, “dad” dance and lest we forget, stubbornness. As his way to show he cared, Mike teased everyone he loved. Family was of utmost importance to him. He and Yvonne enjoyed drives to Wendover and being home together. He loved watching Jazz basketball or a Cowboys game with his children. Some of his favorite past times were teasing his grandkids and having a beer or playing golf with his buddies. Mike could talk to anyone with genuine interest and concern.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard R. Pellum; mother-in-law, Mae F. Quintana, his canine companions, Mia and Sarge and many other loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Leslie Yvonne Pellum; his loving mother, Edna Pellum; father-in-law, Jose Quintana; his children: Michael (Lindsay) Pellum, Amber (Bob) Hite, Cashe (Jamie) Pellum, Shannon (Rick) Tangaro and Teena (Arturo) Robles; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters; four brothers; 14 brothers and sisters-in-law; his dog, River; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mike left a legacy of strength, and kindness. May he rest in the love of his friends and family.
Our family thanks the Veteran’s Administration for their outstanding care throughout Mike’s illness; Canyon Home Care and Hospice (Erica and Tara) for their loving support; as well as all others involved in his care.
