Reid Emerson Keddington, born August 15, 1925, Salt Lake City, UT, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2018 at the age of 92 after living a long happy life. Reid is the son of Ralph Benjamin Keddington and Holly Baxter Keddington.
After graduating from South High School, Reid proudly served in the Navy during World War II. Upon returning home, he attended the University of Utah and LDS Business College. It was on the University of Utah campus that he met his eternal sweetheart, Marjorie Louise Osborne. They were married on May 21, 1947 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 12, 1963. Reid and Marge were blessed with three wonderful daughters.
Reid was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and he happily served wherever he was needed. He especially loved serving in the baptistery in the Salt Lake Temple. No matter what he was called to do, he served with love and devotion. Reid worked at Granite Furniture and was trusted by customers and coworkers alike. After retiring, he lovingly took care of his cherished wife until she passed away on April 27, 2002. Their reunion was indeed sweet.
We would like to thank Legacy House of Bountiful for their tender care for Reid over the past four months, and express our deepest gratitude to Brighton Home Health and Hospice for their extraordinary care for him over the past 2½ years. He was truly blessed by those who cared for him and they were blessed as well. Reid is survived by his daughters: Karen (Gary) Gatherum, Eileen (Paul) Tooke, and Laurel Zundel, 15 grandchildren, and 32 1/2 great-grandchildren.
Reid was a pleasant, generous, thoughtful person who possessed a talent of getting along with everyone. He looked for the good in others and always had a kind word for them. His positive attitude was inspiring. He was a loved and admired husband, father, son, grandfather and great-grandfather. Reid was a gentle teacher and a friend to all.
