

A man who started his life with nothing and turned it into a wonderful life with his wife Alice Furlong Rains, of which they shared 62 years of marriage. He came into this world and by the age of two he had lost both of his parents. Robert left us on July 19, 2015 due to complications of surgery at the age of 81. Robert served in the Korean War from 1951-1954 in the Air Force, during that time he met he met his wife at the Roller Skating Rink. He worked for Coca-Cola and then went on to be the number one sales Rep for Nabisco, which he was able to retire from at the age of 55.He is survived by his wife Alice Furlong Rains, three children, Thomas (Sandy) Rains, Shelley Mucha, Pamela Rains, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 25th at 1 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 2375 East 3300 South.
