Shirley was born in Timnath, CO to Albert and Flossie West on October 11, 1921. She had two brothers, Art & Albert whom she had many great memories and stories.
She married Harold C. Harwood on August 2, 1938 in Tooele, UT and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Their daughter, Judy was born the next year in 1939. Hal left Shirley and Judy to honorably serve his country in World War II. Hal came home in early 1946, son Randy was born nine months and 10 minutes later. To round out the family of 5, their daughter Karen was born in 1949. Hal passed away in 1998 and Shirley she carried on for the next 20 years without her love by her side.
Shirley served in many church callings including Relief Society and Primary President. She had many hobbies including oil painting, reading, playing Kings Corner and Solitaire on her computer.
Grandma Shirley devoted her life and love to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She attended every event and activity for every grand-child and great-grandchild and always said goodbye with a kiss and a pinky wave. Many memories were created at Rockport, Snowbird, and driving to Idaho for Potatoes.
She loved to have Thanksgiving dinner with her entire family sitting at the same table, the best part was always her homemade raspberry freezer jam. Her most loved family meal was her tomato macaroni that will be carried on for generations to come.
Her love and legacy will live on through her family.
