

Stephen Lambert Morris, 69, our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend returned to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, in Salt Lake City, due to complications from colon cancer. Born July 25, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Robert Bitner and Mae Woodbury Lambert Morris. Steve married Marsha Watson Perry on January 15, 1987, in the Salt Lake Temple.
Steve had a kind and tender heart. He was always available to listen, counsel, help, and serve others day or night. He had a strong testimony of the Savior and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the North Argentina Mission. Steve was always very dedicated to his Church callings. He loved helping others and cared deeply about the LDS Single Adult program. He also enjoyed hosting at BYU Education Week and leading tours at Temple Square.
He previously owned and operated Modern Shoe and Luggage Repair and later helped manage A+ Utah Ski Accommodations.
Steve is survived by his former wife and best friend, Marsha Morris; his son, John (Deborah) Perry; his daughter, Tracy (Todd) Solimeno; his brother, Michael (Annette) Morris; brother-in-law, James D’Arc; sister, Sharon Morris Walton; 7 grandchildren, and 10 nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Ann Morris D’Arc.
The family expresses their appreciation to the doctors and nurses who have provided medical assistance and loving care to Steve with special thanks to Dr. Joshua Romney, Dr. John Weiss, and Huntsman Cancer Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, August 8 in the Garden Heights South Ward located at 2220 East Fisher Lane (2935 South). Friends may call on Sunday, August 7 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary located at 3401 South Highland Drive and at the ward on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. prior to services.
