In the early hours of November 03, 2019 Sylvia Lou Thatcher Witt returned into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and was reunited with dear family and friends.

Sylvia Lou Thatcher Witt was born January 09, 1945 to Ruth Morton Thatcher and William Roy Thatcher. Sylvia grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and attended South High School and graduated from Granite High School.

Sylvia was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 11 years old in the Salt Lake Tabernacle along with her brothers David and Paul. Sylvia had a strong and abiding faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many church callings. She found great peace in understanding the Plan of Salvation and eternal families.

On March 28, 1964, Sylvia married Thomas A. Witt, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they have four children whom they raised in Salt Lake City. She enjoyed crafting and taking her children to primary during the week. She served in many Primary Presidencies in various positions. As her children got older, she spent her time involved at their school as a room mother and eventually in various presidencies and positions in the PTA. She attended every event of her children when they were younger and supporting them in their interests. Sylvia was a fun mom. She would take her children and their teenage friends toilet papering, to haunted houses and had epic slumber parties for her kids and their friends. Sylvia found her passion helping children be successful as a Para Educator for 27 years in Granite School District. Many of those years were spent at Woodrow Wilson where she made many lifetime friends and helped many children.

Sylvia’s greatest success were her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Sylvia was proceeded in death by her Father William Roy Thatcher and her Mother Ruth Thatcher Ajax, Brothers: Edwin Thatcher and David Thatcher, Sisters: Laura Ackles and Alta Koopman.
