

Tomiko (Kaneko) Brown passed away peacefully on October 15, 2015 in her home with her family at her side. Tomiko was born on May 31, 1929 in Yokohama, Japan. She met the love of her life, Harold Robert Brown, Sr., during his Korean War mobilization to the US Army Japan Logistical Command. They married on December 29, 1950. Tomiko and Harold were stationed in several states and countries prior to settling in North Highlands, California. They remained devoted to each other until his death in 1986. Tomiko became a part of her youngest daughter’s family in 1989.
Tomiko is survived by her children, Harold Jr. of Oroville, California, Nels (Pam) of Carson City, Nevada, Pauline (David) Harmon of Minot, North Dakota, Leroy (Lorita) of ,Corning, California, Michael (Taneisha) of Houston, Texas, and Dorothy (David) Hall of Morgan, Utah; her grandchildren, Robert, Stephen, Chrystell (Nate), Jeffrey (Ronda), Claire, Mikilynn, Kyle and Kailee; and her great grandchildren, Jason, Anthony, Aubree, Johna, J.J., Sydney, Zoe and Ciara.
The family wishes to express deepest thanks to Michael, Taneisha, Kailee, Pauline, Dave, Dorothy, David, Claire and Kyle for their tender loving care of mom . . . “Baba” . . . over the past several years. Special gratitude to the staff at Burchcreek Hospice and Rocky Mountain Hospice for helping to make Tomiko’s final days comfortable.
A private niche side gathering will be held when Tomiko is reunited with Harold at Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Fair Oaks, California.
