Tyler John Engh was born on February 11, 1985 to Calvin and Leslee Engh, the second of 4 children. Tyler was born in Salt Lake City, Utah at LDS Hospital. He grew up in Sandy, Utah and loved attending church youth and Boy Scout activities and was the OA Lodge Chief in the boy scouts from '02-'03. He attended Alta High School where he graduated in 2003. Tyler sang in the high school choir and loved a cappella. Tyler was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Philippines and sustained an injury in the MTC that required surgery and reassignment to the Fresno, California mission where he served for two years and made lifelong friendships through his service. Tyler met Meggan at the Sandy Heights singles ward in 2008 and they married in the Draper Temple on May 30, 2009.
As a child, and into adulthood, Tyler loved the outdoors, sunshine, and summer. He loved to go camping and boating, with Lake Powell being his favorite boating location. Tyler made friends easily wherever he went and his places of employment were no different. He was kind and giving and would lend a hand to any who needed it. Tyler’s nature was active, curious and engaging. He was never interested in desk jobs, and made a career being active. He had recently started his own pest control company with his wife. They enjoyed working side by side to support their family and passing on a strong work ethic to their children by their examples. Tyler had a love of family that showed in his dedication to and enjoyment of family events. He attended every possible family party and created so many lasting memories with his loved ones.
Tyler loved to take his family on adventures to the mountains and swimming anywhere that would allow. He loved showing them where the family greenhouses were. One of his favorite hobbies to share with his son, Shad, was boondoggle. Tyler was very talented and could make a 12 strand twisted boondoggle. Tyler learned the art of using a smoker and would make delicious beans, meats and cheeses for family and friends using his talent and hard-earned knowledge. He also loved to go bowling.
