William S. “Bill” Felkner, the son of Henry and Mae Felkner, passed away March 17, 2012 due to age-related complications. Bill was 89 and died surrounded by his family and close friends. He was a member of Wasatch Lodge #1 for 65 years, a long-time member of Lynn’s Chapter of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed his association with the Mini-Bike members of El Kalah Shrine. Bill was born in Garden City, Kansas and moved to Salt Lake City in 1945. His Army unit landed in Normandy in 1944 where he received a Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lottie Prock Felkner, and leaves behind his daughter, Marilyn, and his son, Gary (RaeLene) Felkner, and his two beloved granddaughters, Tanya and Trisha. Bill will be missed by his family and many friends, especially his Masonic brothers who were very dear to him. Bill worked for the U.S. Postal Service for nearly 30 years.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22nd at noon at First Congregational Church, 2150 Foothill Drive. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11:30. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the transportation fund of Shriners Hospitals for Children.
