William is survived by his children, William H. Pingree, Jr., SLC; Margaret (Steve) Chilton, SLC; Robert (Memory) R. Pingree, Ocean Park, WA and beloved daughter-in-law, Susan Pingree, Auburn, WA. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by twin sister, Margaret P. Reynolds, Charlotte, NC and his best friend of many years, Joe Pippett, Phoenix, AZ. His family and friends were very important to him.
Predeceasing him: his beloved wife of 49 years, Helen, the mother of their children; son, John Brown Pingree; brother, David R. Pingree, Jr.; and his second wife of 16 years, Ann Sampson Pingree. William was a University of Utah graduate earning degrees in mechanical engineering, science and mathematics before serving in WWII as a field artillery officer. He started the W.H. Pingree Company in 1955 in Salt Lake City. As the business grew, he expanded operations to Phoenix, AZ. After selling the company, he retired in 1994. Having been a member of the Aviation Club, Kiwanis, Alta Club, Fort Douglas Country Club and Cottonwood Country Club, all in SLC, he loved to socialize and have a good time including many boating trips and flying his airplane. He also loved to swim and enjoyed a good martini. He moved full time to Scottsdale in 2002 and loved the sun and friends he made there.
