

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maydene Vann whom he married in 1948; sisters Aldine Kolatis, Athlene Glover and Lucy McClain.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Volita Wilkinson Wilson of San Angelo; sons Alan Raye Wilson and his wife Becky of San Angelo, Terry Scott Wilson and his wife Linda of Columbia Tenn., Terry L. Wilkinson of Westlake; daughters Anita and husband Phil Danaher of Corpus Christi, Ramona and husband Tony Gramsas of Denton, and sisters, Mayrene Klivans of Denison and Brenda Wilson of Bastrop. Al was a loving Grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Al found his way to Texas in 1952 and lived in Palestine and Terrell before making his permanent home in San Angelo. Al became a loyal employee of Madye’s and Ethicon as well as an entrepreneur. He was founder and prior owner of AMA Manufacturing. Al was a 45 year member of the Wool Capital Region AACA Antique Car Club and had a passion for vintage automobiles which he shared with friends and family. Al possessed a love for all things musical and shared his talent with long time friends. In addition, he and his musical “family” shared their gift for music with the community and brought joy to many.
Al was a long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and served his Lord and Savior in his love for friends, family and everyone who met him. Visitation is from 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:30 am at Hillcrest Baptist Church with a graveside service at Fairmount Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Calvert, Steve Calvert, Jesse Hasty, Guy Fredieu, Coy Moses and J.C. Surber.
