A celebration of life service for Alene will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, 3355 W. Beauregard Ave, San Angelo, Texas. Father Hal Scott officiating. Per Alene's wishes she will be cremated.
As a baby she survived being held hostage by Bonnie and Clyde. Working for Woolworth, she helped to open many new stores. In a time when women were not always treated equal in the business world she demanded what she needed. Absolutely not wanting to be called a feminist, she was a trailblazer by becoming one of the first women in this area to obtain a credit card. As an amazing seamstress, Alene sewed dresses for her granddaughter, Ashley. Alene volunteered at her church and at Shannon Hospital until last year. She loved cats and really liked mystery novels.
Alene was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sarah Shirley.
Among many friends, Alene leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Linda Weaver, her granddaughter, Ashley Alene Weaver, and two nieces, Diane Schoaf and Dorothy Tompkins.
