

Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, December 27th at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 28th at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home in San Angelo and Nalley-Pickle-Welch Funeral Home in Midland.
Amado was born April 21, 1925 in Castillo, Coahuila, Mexico to Emilio and Isabela (Ortega) DeLaPena. He was a farmer and had been a resident of the Stiles, St. Lawrence area since 1974. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Amado was married to Marcela Jimenez on June 23, 1951 in Coahuila, Mexico. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son Emilio DeLaPena and one grandson Steely DeLaPena.
Survivors include his children Maricela Subia of Ft. Worth, Robert DeLaPena of Midland, Olivia Miranda of Ft. Worth, Marcela DeLaPena of Ft. Worth, Amado DeLaPena, Jr. of Midland and Calisto DeLaPena of Midland; one brother Jose DeLaPena of Ciudad Acuna, Mexico; 11 grandchildren Michael DeLaPena, Marcus DeLaPena, Michael Alexander, Samantha DeLaPena, Bobby DeLaPena, Steven DeLaPena, Elizabeth DeLaPena, Amanda Miranda, Tesla DeLaPena, Devin DeLaPena, Leslie DeLaPena, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
