On Thursday, April 14, 2016, Betty Wuertenburg Alonzo, 85, of San Angelo, Texas, completed her journey on this earth and went to be with her Lord. Betty was born December 23, 1930 in San Angelo, Texas, the daughter of Nester and Lola Wuertenburg. Betty is survived by her husband, friend, and love of 66 years, Ausencio (Chone) Alonzo with whom she loved traveling and enjoying life.Betty is also survived by her sister, Vivian Wuertenburg; brother, Richard Wuertenburg; daughter, Beatrice and husband Rudolph Mussmann; son, David and wife Martha Alonzo; grandchildren, Melissa Luna, Monica and husband Allen Bjerke Jr., David L. Alonzo, Michael and wife Olivia Luna, Dominica and husband Robert Lee, Melinda Luna, Debbie and husband Dishaun Hart, Marisa and husband Justin Behan, Raymond and wife Vivian Martinez, Crystal Martinez and Korina Urias, John and Ronni Green, as well as 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-granddaughters.Betty is preceded in death by her mother and father as well as siblings Nester Wuertenburg Jr., Ophelia Jaimes, Clorinda Munoz, Ernestine Gonzales and Jimmy Wuertenburg.Family and friends will celebrate Betty's life with a visitation on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., with a prayer service from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel located at 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, Texas.Funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, at Nazareth Presbyterian Church located at 313 W. Ave. N, San Angelo, Texas with burial to follow in Fairmont Cemetery in San Angelo.Pallbearers will be Raymond Martinez, David L. Alonzo, Barney Martinez, Michael Luna, John Green and Steve Rodriguez, with David W. Alonzo and Richard Wuertenburg acting as honorary Pallbearers.
