Betty Allen Clifton

She was born to Jessie Emert and Jess Allen of Miles, Texas on December 4, 1932. She was married to the love of her life, Lawrence Clifton, for 39 years before his death in 1992. They lived in Big Lake before moving to Fort Stockton in 1971. Betty retired from a long and fulfilling nursing career from Pecos County Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by son, Robin Clifton and wife Kay of Aledo, Texas; daughter Kathy Aguirre and husband Les of Clyde, Texas; son Tom Clifton and wife Stephanie of Kerrville, Texas; daughter Sherry Mathews of Euless, Texas; sisters Gladys Sturgill of San Angelo, Dorothy Cox of Comanche, Texas, Ruby Faust of Round Rock, Texas, Wanda Ables of Denver City, Texas, and Shirley Bruton and husband Bert of San Angelo; and brother JL (Sonny) Allen and wife Belle of Mertzon, Texas; eight grandchildren: Jeff Clifton, Julie Snider, Katie Simeroth, Michael Clifton, Emily Clifton, Davis Clifton, Chris Clifton, and Rebecca Clifton; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents Jessie and Jess Allen, husband Lawrence Clifton, sisters Opal Jones and Billie Reed.
