Betty Sue (Reese) Moran, 75, of San Angelo, TX, passed through the gates of heaven on July 20, 2021 in Lafayette, Louisiana after a lengthy illness.
Betty was born on April 23, 1946 and was one of five siblings. She attended Central High School. Her first job was at MacEntires Drive Inn where she met Donald Moran, the man she would spend the next 52 years with building a beautiful family. He is left behind to mourn her absence and remember her beauty, grace and beautiful smile.
Because of Donald’s (Moe) job in the military the first 25 years of marriage saw them living in multiple places. These included Japan, Abilene, Texas, Biloxi, MS, San Angelo, TX and England. It did not matter where the wind took them, mom always was the dutiful and dedicated military wife and mother. This was her greatest job until grandchildren began arriving and then she became the world’s best “Maw Maw”.
Left to celebrate her contribution to this world includes her husband Donald Moran. She had three children Timothy Austin, Tonya Gauna and Donald Moran who will miss her beyond measure. She also has five grandchildren that will forever be blessed because of her; Dustin Gauna (Maribel), Brittany Gauna, Audrey Austin (Jack), Dylan Austin and Brendan Moran. When you thought she had no more love to give, her great grandchildren were there to prove us wrong. Julian Vara, Leah Vara, Autumn Gauna, Addison Gauna and Charly Sandoval were also blessed to be loved by Maw Maw.
Having been preceded in death by her three siblings Harry, Barbara and Johnnie. Mom is survived by her loving brother Robert Reese (Darlene) of San Angelo. Also left to miss her is her sister-in-law Viola Singleton of Watson, Louisiana whom she adored. There are also so many friends from their life in the military whom were life-long friends that will miss mom’s presence. Her extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that are also left behind to benefit from her legacy as well.
Everyone is invited to attend our celebration of mom’s life with visitation Sunday, July 25th from 5-8 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. again at Johnson’s with burial in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com
