Bruce was a heck of a guy. I owe so much of my musical knowledge to him. I worked with Bruce for 4 years on KHYI, spinning music, and occasionally cracking the mic and taking part in his schtick. Thanks for taking a chance on a dumb high school kid. I'm honored to have been a part of Texas radio history.

When I flew down from Virginia to Texas from 1998 to 2000 (and then lived in Frisco from 2000-2003), I was sad when Bruce left KHYI.  I can't tell you how much I looked forward his picks, call-in requests, lunchtime listening, and when he and Brett shared the air.  I won't ever think of the term Americana without thinking of Bruce Kidder.  Very sad to hear this news.  It's all our loss

Can someone please tell me what happened to Bruce? We were teachers that met at UTPB about 4 or 5 years ago. Knew he was at Big Lake but didn't know he passed away until the other day. Just shocked.

Bruce was the one that opened my eyes to truly great Texas music. Used to call in for songs when he was at KHYI. I will miss him for sure. RIP.

Oh, my first memories of Camp O as a counselor were of Bruce and Julie! Such a very sad loss! Julie, my prayers for peace and comfort are with you and your children.

Like lots of other folks, I have many good memories of the times I spent with Bruce. He helped a lot of artists and was one of the coolest guys I've ever met.

A good guy. He got me started in singing my music to the public... with his encouragement after hearing one of my songs, I entered and won the Texas songwriter's competition at KHYI. He had a great love for music.

Tammi & I will never forget the time we met one of Tammi's favorite bands the EX-Husbands @ Borders Books in Lewisville for a intimate evening and it was only 10 people @ 1 time in the evening(our family and yours Bruce)! What a fun evening we had. Also the CYFA days! saying good bye to you is hard to do

Bruce was the heart and soul in the early days of KHYI, he had a swagger about him, he helped me alot and will be missed. God Bless You, Larry massey

Bruce was a delightful radio personality, and quite the gentleman in person the one time I briefly met him.  Back in our Dallas days I loved to tell people "I'm dern fine thanks for asking" and look for that knowing smile.  God bless Bruce and his family.

Bruce it seems like that not long ago that we lived in Kelly Hall at UT El Paso. You were like the floor activities director always with something to do; A Miner game, trip to Juarez Mexico, party at Tom Mays Park, desert bonfire. I'm glad we kept in touch through the years. I thank you for good memories that I will treasure for a lifetime.

I was an avid listener for many years while living in the DFW Metroplex.  I saw you help a lot of talented musicians get a good start and a fair shake.  You will be sorely missed. Bruce, thanks for always taking the time to talk to me when I was a know nothing 20 something kid. First person to ever play the Bill Anderson disco record for me!!

Big Daddy Bruiser....all those years ago when we were counselors in Cabin 1 and spent our mornings doing the dreaded "bedwetting check"...your gig as the welcome to camp announcer....the many times we got together early for Camp Reunions...and your singing the "farewell Song" for King Sewer Rat...many of my most cherished Camp O memories have you involved in one way or another.  And the many Lumper Classics we attended (and you were one of the original members!)  The many gatherings where people freely quoted "Blazing Saddles" or "Meatballs" and "Animal House."  I remember when you proposed to Julie...and how we gathered at your house with your family to play cards.  You were a great friend Bruce, and you will be sorely missed.  This world needs more people that can make us laugh.  Of course my thoughts and prayers are with Julie and your kids....."That's a good deal....and a good deal more" (said with finger crooked...)

I love you BK! I remember having a lot of laughs with you and you will be missed.

Oh Bruce! My life sure changed when you walked into it. Thank you for that. To Julie and family, please know my heart aches with yours.
