

Carolyn Randolph Lockhart, the daughter of the late Cosette Martin Randolph and Harrison Calhoun Randolph of Bandana, Kentucky, passed away November 2, 2011.
Carolyn was born in Bandana, Kentucky on October 7, 1928. She graduated from Bandana High School and received her Associate Degree from Freed-Hardeman University. Carolyn was a devout Christian all of her life. Her roots in the church of Christ go back to her grandparents.
She and her husband, Stanley Amos Lockhart, met at Freed-Hardeman and two years later were married. Motivated by her love for the church, Carolyn was dedicated to using her talents to serve the Lord. She served as a Bible school teacher for over twenty five years. During those years she taught junior high classes and the young ladies Bible classes.
Carolyn had numerous hobbies including traveling the world. She turned this hobby into a service by planning trips for senior citizens, called the Primetimers. This select group vacationed in such places as Branson, Missouri, Central Texas, Hawaii, the Middle East, the Netherland countries, England, Egypt and other exciting places throughout Europe and Russia. Carolyn had a talent for organizing these excursions insuring the best travel experience for the Primetimers. Carolyn also participated on the lectureship program at Abilene Christian University and taught in Texas statewide and New Mexico training programs.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Stanley Amos Lockhart, their daughters, Lyndolyn Lockhart Pervier and husband Charles Curtis Pervier of Midland, Texas, and Sherry Lockhart Bird and husband Steven Cris Bird of Austin, Texas, grandchildren, Chelsea Leigh Pervier, Ryan Lockhart Pervier and Jonathan Christian Bird, her younger sister, Marilyn Randolph Prather her husband, Ewell Prather of Abilene, Texas and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents and an older sister, Evelyn Maples.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, November 5th at the Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel, 435 W. Beauregard, San Angelo, Texas. Dr. Jay Lockhart, Stanley’s nephew, will officiate the service. Graveside services immediately following memorial service at the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM Road 1223.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Ty Hughston, Dr. Peter Chang, Laura Allen, her nurse, Donna and Brenda of San Angelo Home Health Care, who were so kind in their service to her. Also we are grateful for Mary Cheek with Hospice of San Angelo, and their entire staff in their willingness to serve and to comfort during these difficult days. We express our appreciation to Carmen Aguilar who served her faithfully for ten years.
