I count Mr Aly as one of only two teachers who I remember as being excellent and inspiring. He taught us about classical
Music. How to listen to it. And because of him I had a collection of classical music when I was 11 years old. My brother was listening to The Beach Boys and making fun of me. But in just a matter of a few years after that he used my classical
Music to build upon and broadened his scope. 
During the time between the Beach Boys and the Beatles perhaps? 
I fondly remember Mr Aly and was just thinking of him today. Looking him up I see he lived a long and fulfilled life. 
My condolences to his family, friends, students and the world.

I was so sad hear we have lost Mr Aly to the angels but I am glad to finally learn his middle name. He would never tell us. I was in his choir at Edison. He gave us the hardest written tests I’ve ever taken. He got the most beautiful sounds out of us. I loved the way he challenged us. Little did we know he was preparing us for the Central choirs. Many of you may not know that Mr, Aly, Ron Bates and Walter Johnson helped each other out at Christmas and Easter by singing in each other’s church choir programs to beef up the tenor sections or sing the solos. What a wonderful man. He will be greatly missed. 

I am so sorry for your loss.  One of the memories I have was how Mr. Aly would lower his glasses to the end of his nose whenever he felt it was appropriate. My only issue was I would have to keep from laughing out loud especially if we were performing! I was fortunate to see Mr. Aly occasionally at First Baptist when I would visit San Angelo. I will always remember his invitation to play/sing for his Sunday School class a few years ago. It was so thoughtful of him to ask. All of us who have submitted memories of him are blessed to have had a Christian example as Mr. Aly.  My prayers will continue for the family.

Mr. Aly was my choir director at Central. He was a great and patient teacher and mentor. One of my all-time favorite and best teachers. He always gave 100%, and expected 100%. He loved to joke around (though half the time we were uncertain if it was a joke or not), taught us the word “facetious,” and  caused me to fall more in love with music. He was a character, mischievous,  strict, and sometimes hard to read.  He always had a twinkle in his eye, sometimes a pipe in his mouth,  and always a contagious laugh. He built character in each of us and made us into a family. He made a difference in my life!  Our signature song, Beautiful Savior, will forever be one of my favorite songs and it will always remind me of our sweet Mr. Aly.  I am quite certain he is in God’s presence singing with the angels today. Respect and love, Shelley

First let me say that I’m sorry for you loss. Mr Aly was my choir teacher at John Glenn Je High about 1969 or so. I was very impressed by him and his willing to work with kids who could not Sing a peep. I always had a touch in my heart  for him, God bless him and your family.

Mr. Aly was one of those teachers who had a profound impact on my life. My time in choir in high school were some of my happiest moments in school. Mr. Aly played a large part of that.

He was quirky and strict. He repeated his stories A LOT. But we always knew that he loved us and wanted the best for us. He seemed to genuinely enjoy what he did.

Over the years I crossed paths with Mr. Aly a few times. He was always the same, with that twinkle in his eyes. A very good man

I’ll never forget the line he used whenever we were acting up in choir or just doing something crazy….  “the children some folks do raise”🙄. He was a great man and wonderful choral teacher.

“I shall never forget”… was a phrase I remember Mr. Aly sharing with us frequently. He was the most professional, wisest man I knew at the time. I loved how he would raise an eyebrow or twitch a finger to queue us and grin when he said, “You’re late!”  I loved how he related his medical knowledge to the mechanics of the beautiful sounds he would get out of us to help us perform our best! He would bounce in his loafers and “bowling” shirts with such enthusiasm we couldn’t help but share in the love of anything we sang. Mr. Aly was one of the best teachers from Central High.  He taught me to love music in ways I never imagined.  He was so much more than a teacher.  His passion for music & life rubbed off on all of us.

Mr. Aly you were so much more to me then my teacher.  You took your infectious  love of music and shared it with all of us.  You made the music come to life as you explained the history of the music and translated Latin and Italian that we would sing in.  Every thing you did was full of grace and dignity.  What a wonderful mentor, you led by example.  I don’t know if you knew how many young women and men you touched with your presence that you helped us to grow into adults.  
My best memories are of going to Europe with the Texas Youth Choir.  You would teach us about the cathedrals we visited and the countries and shared your knowledge and love of these things freely, they weren’t planned lessons they were conversations among people of mutual respect. One of your greatest gifts was  you getting us permission to sing Beautiful Savior in Norte Dame Cathedral.  I remember as we finished the silence of everyone visiting that day because they stopped and listened.  It was one of the most special music experiences of my life.    A feeling I’ve never forgotten it was bliss and joy and full of grace.  
Thank you for making me a better musician and a better person.  God Bless you and your family. I have no doubt the angels are singing in heaven and it won’t be long before you’re  conductor.

I was just thinking of Mr. Aly this summer.  He made such a great impression on me as a teacher.  He was a special teacher and a great man.  I learned more about life from him than I did from all my other teachers.  

Mr. Aly was my favorite teacher in all my school years!  He cared for all his students and was always available to us when we needed help with music.  He was a wonderful, Christian influence on me and a great role model.  To his family, I know you all sacrificed for all of us when he stayed after school to help with "unpaid voice lessons", and listening to us for our solos' duets, and group contests.  He talked of you all lovingly, always.  May God give you peace.

Mr. Aly was my first vocal coach and private teacher.  I was a 9th grader at Glenn when it first opened and had always been in orchestra.  I changed from orchestra to choir and Mr. Aly encouraged me to pursue vocal music.  My professional career in choral and vocal music happened because of his encouragement and guidance.  I'll forever be grateful for his love and support.  In later years attending First Baptist Church he always had an encouraging word for me when I sang and usually a coaching tip too.  Thank you, Mr. Aly.  

There is no doubt that Mr. Aly impacted my life.  His belief in me allowed me to have 3 years in Concert Choir at Glenn and 3 years in Chorale at Central.  Thanks to the training that I received from Mr. Aly, I was able to spend 20 years singing with the Dallas Symphony Chorus.  
Mr. Aly was a one-of-a-kind teacher and mentor.  So many stories and so many great memories from junior high and high school.   I thanked him a few years back for helping me be the musician I became but I can never come close to paying him the honor he deserves.   
Oh, and I will never forget his favorite phrase:  "You're late!"

Mr. Aly was one of my all time favorite teacher/mentors. In the five years I spent with him in choirs at both Glenn and Central, he helped me develop a stronger love for, understanding  and appreciation of music. It was he who taught me about musical theater and inspired me to pursue it in college and beyond. But beyond what I learned from him about music, I also learned  from him how to work hard to achieve goals. I learned how to work as a team, and how important proper etiquette was in certain situations. I will never forget singing for TMEA, our wonderful choir tours, The Music Man, Brigadoon, the whited haired man story, radio night, choir contest, and all the beautiful music that was made. Most of all, I won’t forget the sweet, disciplined man who called me gal.  My sincere condolences to his family. 

Mr. Aly was my choir director when I was at Central High School back in 1975 and 1976. I loved his personality and how he genuinely cared about each and every one of us. He was funny, he was talented, he could be tough, but he was always kind. I loved hearing him sing. I loved how he called the girls “gal”! During the course of my schooling, I had many wonderful teachers and mentors but truly Mr. Aly is one of the few teachers I still think of often and with fondness. I’m so grateful I got to know him. I send my heartfelt condolences to his family. 

He had such an impact on my life as my mentor and teacher.  I remember him fondly.  Rest In Peace!

Mr. Aly was such a wonderful teacher and confidant.  He always had time for everyone.  He had a kind spirit about him always.  He taught us so much more than music.  He will always be fondly remembered by many.. May God bless the family with comfort.
