Christa Bertha Brock (Reichelt) departed from this life to meet our lord Jesus Christ on August 2, 2020. Battling cancer at 83, she took her last breath at home in bed surrounded by her loving family.
Christa was born in Plauen, Germany on January 7, 1937 to Kurt Alfred Reichelt and Bertha Geborene Hennauer. She grew up in eastern Germany during WWII and its subsequent transformation into a Communist region. Suffering poverty and famine, she seized the opportunity to flee after being invited to a family wedding in west Germany and obtaining a 3 day pass from the Russian authorities when she was 18 years old.
There she met Larry Tucker, a member of the U.S. Army stationed in the area. They married in the United States and raised four children together, Andreas Tucker, Steve Tucker, Christina Brickey, and Curt Tucker who survive her. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret, her grandchildren, Paige Tucker, Jaiden Tucker, Nikolaus Tucker, Aubrey Bartz, Casey Georget, Steven Tucker, Madelynn Koehler, Matthew Brickey, Jasmine Tucker, Ashton Tucker, and one great-grandson Oliver Georget. She remarried Robert Brock, by whom she was predeceased, as well as by her brother Ralph Reichelt.
Christa experienced living in Iowa, Tennessee, and finally settled in Texas. She enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hiking in the Smoky Mountains, fishing at Twin Buttes, and camping at the Frio River with her family, and thereby imparted this appreciation to her children. With her German refinement, attentiveness, and good cooking, Her traditions will be passed down for generations to come. She gave a special touch to holiday gathering, especially Christmas and St. Patty's Day. Her presence will be profoundly missed.
As requested in her last will, her remains have been cremated.
Her loved ones are consoled knowing that she died with a great hope in the eternal love of Christ.
