Christina S Garcia, 67, passed away on August 11, 2026. Born on July 18, 1959, she was the oldest of five children and carried that firstborn steadiness throughout her life, meeting others with a generous spirit and a steadfast sense of care. A resident of San Angelo, Texas, Christina built a life defined by devotion to family, a giving heart, and a quiet courage that welcomed new places, new experiences, and the beauty found along the way.
Christina raised three children, Andrea Martinez, Angie Gutierrez, and Amy Williamson. She was married to Johnny Garcia. In her home, love was never in short supply—nor was guidance. She reminded those she loved to pray in hard times, and when fear crept in, she would say to speak the words, “In the name of Jesus,” trusting that all would be well, because God has got us. Her faith and tenderness were matched by a selflessness that showed itself in simple, unmistakable ways: she would give her last dollar, or even the shirt on her back, if it meant helping someone else.
An artist with a creative spirit, Christina found joy in painting, puzzles, and traveling. She also painted for the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, sharing her gifts with the wider community and leaving behind work shaped by patience, imagination, and care. Those closest to her knew her as a queen without a crown—beautiful and strong, fiercely independent, and never afraid to be herself. Through her art, her laugh, her kindness, and the way she loved, she left pieces of herself everywhere she went. As a mother, she gave her children more than love; she gave them strength, wisdom, and the courage to stand on their own. As a grandmother, she brought a special kind of joy, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
In her last days of care, daughter Andrea kept her safe and comfortable until Christina took her last and final breath to be with our Father in heaven.
Christina is lovingly remembered by her siblings Bennie S. Garcia, Esperanza S. Guzman, Steve S. Guzman, and Anthony S. Garcia; her daughter Andrea G. Martinez (Johnny) and her family Caprial J. Garcia, Destiney (Robert) Marquez, Johnny Martinez III (Daisy), Kylie LeAnn Martinez, Veronica Martinez, and Victoria Martinez; her daughter Amy Williamson (David) and her family Abraham Garcia, Emaleigh Garcia, Adella Garcia, Anastacia Vargas, Augustine Vargas, Adam Williamson, and Adeline Garcia; her grandchildren Aria C. Gonzales, Xaden L. Alaniz, Avalie 'Tober Fernandez, Zacharia A. Garcia, Luna G. Garcia, and Emmanuel A. Berain; her daughter Angie G. Gutierrez and her family; and Jobie Gutierrez and Angie Gutierrez.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, TX 76903, on August 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
