Claire Patricia Rychlik

July 1, 1937May 10, 2013

Claire Patricia Rychlik, "Pat" was given eternal , peaceful rest in the Father's arms on May 10, 2013, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are being made by Johnson's Funeral Home. Pat was born on July 1, 1937, in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Terrence and Delia Torpy. She married Louis Emil Rychlik on Oct. 26, 1955, in Boston. The couple moved to San Angelo, where they remained together for 56 years until his death in October of 2011. Her most precious blessings were their children: Gail Griffin and fiance Jay Hoover, Mike and Rhonda Rychlik, Daniel Rychlik and Carol and Jeff Manning. Pat was also very fond of Missy Dean and loved her as a daughter. Pat was an active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She served on various committees as well as being a Eucharistic minister and lector, CCD teacher and co-chaired the Holy Angels Spring Festival with her husband. She worked at various jobs after her children became school aged. She worked at Galbreath Steel before she earned her favorite title ? Mom. She also worked over the next 40 years at KIXY Radio Station, Nathan's Jewelers, Tom Green County Library, Dr. Ed Christensen's office and retired as the Tribunal Secretary and Clerk of the Catholic Diocese of San Angelo. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis; her parents, Terrence and Delia Torpy; brothers Bobby, Danny and Tommy Linnane; and one sister, Helen Linnane. She is survived by her sisters, Betty Linehan and Mary Halloran of Boston, Mass.; and her very best friend, Mary Sue Brewer, of San Angelo, Texas. She was most especially thankful for and treasured her 11 grandchildren and was happy to be their Nana: Katie, Andrew, and Brendan Griffin, Erynn Griffin Bobholz and her husband, Steve, Jailynn, Jansen and Jacie Rychlik, Sarah Rychlik, and Rianne, Mallorie and Jamie Manning. She was also proud of her great-grandchildren, Noah, Sydney, Hayley and Jaxon Bobholz. The family extends sincere appreciation to Dr. Melott, Dr. Cargile, Dr. Cornell and Dr. Cummings for their care through the last three years. Special thanks and hugs to the angels of Hospice of San Angelo for providing comfort for Mom and our family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church or Hospice of San Angelo. Family and friends may sign an online register book at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com.
