

Cynthia was born on January 17, 1948 to Frank and Hazel Word in Menard, Texas. She grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School in 1966. Shortly after graduating from high school Cynthia went to work for GTE/Verizon. Last year she decided to retire after 39 years of faithful service at the phone company. During her life she met so many wonderful people. It did not matter who you were to her, you always were her friend. Bubba was also very involved in Cub Scouts and boy Scouts even before her three boys came along. During her adventures in Scouting she created lifelong friendships with countless people. Cynthia was so proud of her three boys, Weston, Terrill and Patrick, who were her pride and joy. Cynthia was also very proud of her grandson Kayden. They shared a special bond with each other that no one will ever be able to replace.
Survivors are her mother Hazel Word; her three sons Weston Amos and wife Megan and their son, Kayden; Terrell Amos and Patrick Amos; her niece Deidra Banister and family; her nephew Wade Banister and family; her special sister Janelle Mogford and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and very dear friends.
Visitation will be from 6pm-8pm on Thursday, September 2nd at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Services will be held at St. Paul Presbyterian Church on Friday September 3rd at 10:00 AM graveside will follow in Fairmount Cemetery with Glenda Harbert and Tony Chambless officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brandie Mogford, Edward Welch, Jesse Alvarado, Curtis Reisdorfer, Wade Bannister, Tony Lopez, Patrick Amos and Weston Amos. Honorary pallbearer Ryan Gregonis.
