Darlene grew up in Chama, New Mexico, where her early years were marked by energy and determination. In high school, she rode horses and twirled baton with the marching band—pursuits that reflected both her steady discipline and her willingness to step forward with confidence. Even then, she showed the careful, capable mind that would remain with her throughout life, later becoming known as a bookkeeper who could balance everyone’s checkbooks precisely to the penny.
In 1955, Darlene married Ray “Rusty” Kedziora, an Air Force man, and together they built a life shaped by devotion, resilience, and constant motion. Their years took them across the United States, Canada, and England, where they raised three children: Crystal Goodman, Kolon Kedziora, and Alex Kedziora.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, and her son, Kolon. She is also remembered with love by her children Crystal Goodman and Alex Kedziora, as well as by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Darlene’s interests were as steady as they were wide-ranging. She enjoyed sewing, mahjong, traveling, and Cowboy’s football, and she took particular joy in arts and crafts. She made several stained-glass items and was, above all, a seamstress at heart—finding both comfort and purpose in the work of her hands. She also loved classic films, especially those featuring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, and she treasured trips back to New Mexico to visit her brother and extended family, keeping close the ties that mattered most to her.
Those who knew Darlene knew a woman of strong will and steady wisdom—someone who meant what she said and followed through on what she set out to do. Her loyalty ran deep, and her love for family held firm without condition. Organized, intelligent, and unfailingly giving, she offered her care in practical ways and in quiet sacrifices, leaving behind a legacy of steadfast presence and enduring devotion.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Angel’s Care Hospice—especially Hailey, Cheyenne, and the staff—for their support and compassion.
Darlene loved her family and friends, and the many relatives she held dear in New Mexico. A special ceremony with family, with the ashes of both Ray and Darlene combined, will be held in Chama, New Mexico, this summer when all relatives can attend, at the little chapel where Ray and Darlene married.
