Doreen had a passion for life, for art, and for coffee. She grew up in New Berlin, Wisconsin, only child of Bernice and Chet Stevens, and went to school with both of her future husbands. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design, she married Scott Juds and they later had a girl, Stephanie, and a boy, Eric, in Everett, Washington. She designed leaded glass windows for Bear Glass Design Studios of New Berlin. In 1983, she moved with her children from Seattle to Austin, where she married Michael Scholtes and began designing houses for Randy Morine Homes. Their son Kevin was born in 1987. Doreen was a life member of the Texas PTA, produced newsletters for numerous community groups, served on the board of the Neighborhood Association of Southwestern Williamson County, and served as an election judge for Williamson County. She loved collecting coffee-related curios. She loved antique shopping. She loved old movies and everything Christmas. She was a gifted chef. She loved life. She loved us all.
Doreen is survived by her husband Michael, by her mother Bernice, by her three children, Stephanie, Eric, and Kevin Scholtes; and by her daughter in-law Natasha and grandson, Chester.
