Dorothy Jane Grosshans

January 4, 1926November 29, 2018

Dorothy Jane Blake Grosshans went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2018. Dorothy was born on January 4, 1926 in San Angelo, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Frank Blake and Luna Powell. She attended Lake View High School and married Charles Littlefield in 1943. They had three children, Patricia Jane Dannheim, Charles Wiley Littlefield and Dee Ann Franklin. After her first marriage ended, she met and was happily married for 53 years to the late Arnold Grosshans, and they had one daughter, Barbara Perez. Dorothy had worked as a bookkeeper for Reece Albert Paving Contractor, Kimball Angelo Food Warehouse, and Warren Drug. Dorothy had a great love for music at home and in church. She worked as a choir director for over thirty-five years at her beloved Lake View United Methodist Church. She loved to go camping and fishing, and she was always eager to invite the family to come out and have a good time. She loved to play 42 with friends and family. She also enjoyed making quilts and gardening. For the last several years, she lived at Bronte Health and Rehabilitation. Though she sometimes could not remember family members, she would join in singing the words to her favorite songs. Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Arnold, sister, Dee Walker, and brother, W.J. Blake. She is survived by Patricia Dannheim (Noel) of Lampasas, Wiley Littlefield of Lampasas, Dee Ann Franklin of Weatherford and Barbara Perez (Ben) of San Angelo, six grandchildren Neal Dannheim, Jan Harris, Desta Crooks, Josilyn Bigoness, Jim Franklin, and Allison Yost, as well as ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 4-6 PM Sunday, December 2 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday December 3 at 11, at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Charlie Baskin.

Dorothy was a wonderful role model for me when I was a kid. She was my choir director and a great friend. She taught me to sing alto in the church choir. I loved this Lady and I have missed her smiling face for the past few years. I know it has been a long time that she has been sick, but know that she is at peace now and is singing with all the angels in heaven.

I have been sick the last 2 days so I can't attend the funeral. You are all in my thoughts and prayers through this time of grief and sorrow.

God Bless you all,

Dorothy Eaton
