

Dorothy Meretha Wallace Johnson, age 84, died September 28th, 2017, in Cedar Park, Texas. She was born December 3rd, 1932 in Kalispell, Montana to Lon and Marie Wallace. She and her family moved to San Angelo, Texas in 1937. She attended schools in San Angelo and graduated from San Angelo High School in 1951. She attended San Angelo College, now Angelo State University.
Dorothy married Jack Harold Johnson on October 7, 1951, while he was in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Kelly Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and Travis Air Force Base in California. After he was discharged from the Air Force, Jack joined the Texas Department of Public Safety. He and Dorothy and their children lived in Big Spring, El Paso and Corpus Christi, Texas.
Dorothy was employed in El Paso as a substitute teacher. She was employed in Corpus Christi as an instructional aide at Carroll Lane Elementary School for 19 years.
Dorothy enjoyed sewing, reading, camping and travelling with Jack, both on guided tours and in their travel trailer. She also enjoyed volunteering at her church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Marie Wallace and her husband Jack Harold Johnson of sixty-four years. She is survived by her son David Johnson (Dorothy) of Edna, Texas, her daughter, Judy Johnson Lovelace (George) of Jonestown, Texas, her brother, Joe Wallace of San Angelo, Texas, her sister Elva Wallace Miller of Blacksburg, Virginia, grandchildren Jack Johnson of Denver, Colorado, Kathy Johnson of New Braunfels, Texas, Brian Lovelace of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kristi Lovelace Krouse (Nathan) of Leander, Texas, and three great-grandchildren, Connor, Allie and Weston Krouse, all of Leander, Texas and her very special Angel John Dudgeon of Round Rock, Texas.
Graveside services will be held October 7, 2017, at 12 noon at Mullins Cemetery, Veribest, Texas. Arrangements made by Johnson’s Funeral Home, San Angelo, Texas, Telephone (325) 655-3113.
