Dear Sissy, My heart aches! I love you so much and miss you terribly! My fond memories are so many! From our childhood to adulthood .  Some of my fondest memories are when we were growing up we didn't have much but we had each other. We enjoyed just playing with our baby dolls and barbie dolls, playing outside and making mud pies, riding our bikes that our big brother Bob gave us for Christmas one yr. Those days were long before technology, video games and no more than 3 channels on tv lol so we just pretended. We  Played on our swing and ran from that mean rooster! lol. I remember when we could be walking on a dirt path, side walk, or street looking for coins trying to find enough to go to the corner grocery store to buy a bag of penny candy. How you loved your candy!  You could find a lot of coins, I was lucky to find a couple of pennies. We would go to the store with what you found and my 2 cents and get a bag of candy. I never had to ask you to share cause I knew you would, You would say in your little sweet voice don't worry sissy I will share with you. You didn't have a selfish bone in your body as a child or an adult. When we grew up into Adults we still stayed close, you were my best friend. I could talk to you about anything and you could do the same. Yes we bumped heads a few times when we were kids and in our  adult life but that's what's called being siblings but we were quick to get over it. I know we spent a lot of years apart after you and Kenny married and moved away when he was in the marine corp. and when I moved to Fort Worth for 18 yrs. but we got together when I came home to visit . We were both happy when I came back home 8 yrs ago. I loved every moment when we would spend time together having a beer and singing old songs. Sissy I couldn't have asked for a more loving, caring, generous sister! I'm at peace knowing you're not suffering anymore. I love and miss you sissy! That's all we ever called each other, rarely by name.  See you later sissy!

Oh sweet Dorothy! We loved seeing you at Spams when we were dating as you and Kenny were forever friendly, funny, kind and caring. Not just to us but to everyone you knew.  Afterward, on Facebook keeping in touch with each other meant so much to me and I will miss you always dear friend. I can't remember how many years we were in school together but you graduated from Central in '74 and me in '75 and only five short months apart in age. You and Kenny were/are a handsome and beautiful couple inside out out.  Thank you for your friendship  as I will never forget your great personality and our talks about so many things over the years. Our hearts go out to Kenny,  family and friends during the loss of such a remarkable person.  Thoughts and Prayers sweet people.  Carla & Karl Bennett

Oh sweet Dorothy - I will miss you so much! We became friends talking on the phone while discussing my Republic accounts.  No matter what mess I handed to you - you always solved it with a smile.  You were always such an angel - now you truly are one.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family.  Fly high my sweet friend.

I have known you for nearly 60 years!  You have always held a special place in my heart!  I love you and I will miss you, but I know you are in a much better place!  Thinking  of you Kenny!

Dorothy, you have always been so sweet, and funny. A great friend to have. I remember fondly, and frequently the night that we reconnected many years after high school, at the Eagles Lodge, on my 1st date with Demo. We sat at the bar a jawed for hours, and the guys played pool. I was so happy to see you, It made me feel so comfortable, knowing that if you guys were ok with him, then I would give him a chance. Kenny, you had yourself a great one, and I am sorry that you have lost her. I know that it is going to be hard, I will be praying for you,  that you will find solace knowing that she is with those who love her, and is no longer in pain, and waiting for you when you time comes, no rush. We love you, If we can do anything for you, please let us know.

Where do I begin, where do I start? It hurts in a good way for the wonderful fact that I had you in my life and hurts so desperately knowing you are gone.  My sweet Aunt Dot.  You gave us a home when things in our world weren't right.  You gave us the look of disapproval when we disappointed, but never failing to love and look past.  From fishing to jigsaw puzzles (for hours on end when Uncle Kenny was away) you were there. You told me how when Uncle Kenny was away with the Marines you wore a picture of him around your neck and I would pick it up as a toddler sitting in your lap saying I would just love, love, love it (which meant kiss, kiss, his picture). You were there at my darkest hours and in the brightest when I gave birth to the twins, you were there.  You seem to have a knack at giving us nicknames and from infancy you called me, "Lula-Bula".    Every card you gave me never said my name always. "Lula-Bula" and at times just Boo.  After Memaw passed away (your Mowmie) you would go over to her house just to sit and reminisce and call me and ask what I was doing and I would go over and sit with you on that green thick shag carpet as you painted your toe nails with your Coors Light lol.  I miss our lunch dates. The twins said, now who will buy our Christmas and Birthday clothes??? lol Since you always made sure they were stocked, and you loved doing that for them.  SkyeLee sleeps with her Indian Woman light every night and Lawson has his Little Cowboy picture in his room.   The twins have grown since this photo, but the words have intensified.  To al those that read this thank you for being apart of her life, thank you for loving her.  Know that she loved you.  Always her Lula Bula (Lori Ann McAlexander-Lara)

My love thoughts and prayers go out to ALL of Dorthy’s Family especially Kenny and to all of her many many friends. I don’t think anyone that ever met Dorothy had a bad word to say, they all fell in love with her as did Ronnie and I. We had so so many fun times together, travels, and stories.  Dorothy you will be missed beyond words. I have no words to describe what an amazing person she was. RIP this is not good bye but until we meet again❤️

I have so many memories I could probably almost write a book. She was the coolest Aunt a nephew could have. I remember when I was little, and she would baby sit me and take me cruising the drag with her and her friend, with me in the back seat and having to duck down when they would talk to a guy (before Kenny ;) ). I was the ring bearer at her wedding, when she married the coolest uncle a nephew could have. Then all the fishing trips to Blanket on Smith Lake and to Twin Buttes. She also was the party host when a couple of my friends graduated high school, who forgave us when we did what we weren't suppose to do! I won't go into details, lol! She was always so supportive in every creative thing I ever did, from art, music and to golf.  She was always there for me if I ever needed it. Even giving me a home when I had no place to go and was very understanding and forgiving when I probably did things that anyone else would have taken my head off for. She also helped my young family out whenever she could. She supported every fundraiser my two girls did with school and their sports. She probably had 100 Wall school t-shirts in her closet! I also vaguely remember as a baby, the smoke in the kitchen when she fell asleep while warming a bottle of min on the stove, and I still have the hunk of metal that is all that is left of that pot (in the pic below). God broke the mold when he made this aunt!  Love you always, Aunt Dot!

I will always carry the memories of Dorothy in my heart.  As someone stated I have too many memories to write them down.  Rest In Peace sweet Dorothy and praying for her family.

So very many, many wonderful memories with you. Too many to write down from our numerous road trips and sharing of motels rooms where you would always get the giggles and want to talk to our Frank and the Franketts Friday nights. Your memories will live on with the brightness you brought to our lives and so many more. Rest in peace Dorothy as you will be deeply missed

RIP Dorothy Jo.  My prayer is for Kenny and your family to soon find peace and understanding with their loss. I know you will now be their guardian angel. I will miss you my beautiful friend.
