Dorothy Bell Welch, 92, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2011 in Castroville, Texas. The visitation will be all day Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. The Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 4, 2011 at Norton Cemetery in Norton, Texas with Alvis Fisher officiating. Dorothy was born January 3, 1919 to Jesse Delbert and Inez Mae King. She married Moody Eldridge Welch on August 7, 1934 and they shared 36 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death in 1970. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She was the finest example of a strong Christian lady who always went out of her way to help others. She loved cooking and she would always take people in need food and would stay with them until she knew they would be alright. Even in her later years, when her health wouldn’t allow her to, she continued her Christian ways with those around her. Dorothy will truly be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, her husband, and one son, Alan. Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Jim Welch and his wife, Minda Lee, of San Antonio, TX., and Rodger Welch and his wife Sherri, of Hondo, TX; 6 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; and numerous special friends. Donations may be made to the West Angelo Church of Christ or a favorite charity.
