Dudley Farr

Dudley Farr, 79, of San Angelo, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at a local nursing home. Family visitation will be Friday, June 22, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Jack Angle of Freedom Fellowship officiating.

Dudley was born on March 29, 1933 in Noodle, Texas to Henry and Minnie Pence Farr. He graduated from Merkel High School in 1951 and married his high school sweetheart, Martha Laverne Beene, on February 5, 1953 in Merkel, Texas. They enjoyed 45 wonderful years together until her passing in 1998. He worked for GTE and retired from there after more than 30 years. Dudley then partnered with his sons in Farr’s Southwest Florist and Sunset Storage.

Dudley was preceded in death by his parents H.K. and Minnie, wife Martha, and brothers Archie and Wayne Farr. He is survived by sons Richard and wife Debbie of San Angelo and David and wife Deb of Trent, TX; grandson Jake Farr of Ft. Worth, TX and granddaughter Jill Farr of Denver, CO; sister Esther Carson of Merkel, TX; nephews Don and Britt; nieces Ann, Kathy, Lisa, and Lori; and sister in-law Marlene Farr of Abilene, TX.
