Obituary of Ethel Hope Binyon
Ethel Hope Binyon “Mema” 91 of San Angelo, Texas went to be with the lord on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Ethel was born on February 22, 1931, in New Haven, CT. Ethel and her family lived in CT until they moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1948. She married Otho Binyon in Fort Worth December 11, 1950. Ethel worked for Levi Strauss for 30 years before her retirement. She was the first ever woman cutting room manager. She was such a strong woman and taught the women at Levi to stand up for what they thought was right. She was an excellent manager and was regarded as one of the best cutting department managers in the company. After her retirement she worked at Tejas Manufacturing and Shelburne Financial Services. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Urania Madsen, husband, Otho Binyon, son, Don Binyon and her brother Wes Madsen. Ethel is survived by son David Binyon and wife Kim, daughter Brenda Keese and husband Ron, daughter in law Debbie Binyon. Grandchildren Cheret Harvey and husband Eric, Christina Granado and husband Marcos, Cindy Granado and husband Thomas, Brandi Mapel and husband Robert, Cody Binyon, Chris Womack and Tricia Steely. Great grand children Colton and Carson Littlefield, Marcos and Izabella Granado, Trenton, Gillian and Irene Granado, Collins Mapel, Braxton Binyon, Mariah, Nick, Vickie and Anthony Clements. Great Great Grandchildren Kazleigh Granado, Conrad and Phoenix Clements Ethel enjoyed volunteering for multiple agencies and was so proud of the work they accomplished. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, dancing, sewing, crocheting and most of all spending time with her family. Mema’s love was so strong and so big it consumed anyone that met her. Family was everything to her and she loved us all for exactly who we are. Open visitation will be held from 12 pm - 8 pm Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 am, Wednesday August 3, 2022 in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
