Florine was the youngest of 3 children, brother, Melvin Moeller and sister, Delta Bubenik, who have also preceded her in death.
She met her love, Herbert Hoelscher when she was 16, they were married for 56 years when he passed away on January 6, 1990. Together they raised 3 daughters and 4 sons. Florine worked several years at the Fairview school lunch room. She had a passion for singing, playing her guitar and making music with her “musician friends” on Sunday afternoons. Whenever she heard the good news of another grandbaby was on the way, she began to piece together another homemade baby blanket. She always had a playhouse in the backyard and a baby bed in the back room for her grandchildren, so all would be at home and comfortable. In later years she always had a pot of coffee every morning for her children dropping by, the small jokes and laughter made her day, then off to quilting or dominos, always keeping her on her toes after Dad passed away. She was a leader in the 4-H Club, teaching young girls how to cook and sew.
She prided herself in raising chickens and selling her eggs. Daddy never told her how much the feed cost. She and Dad loved to go fishing at their lot at Lake Amistad long with their family. In later years they enjoyed their bus trips with other couples. Mom’s heritage will live on as she quilted keepsake quilts for her family as she gifted many friends with them.
She later acquired the nickname “Muff” that was short for Mother Florine.By all accounts, she was a lady “you just HAVE to love.” Heaven just got another angel!
She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church as well as a Catholic daughter of America.
