Galdino Lorenzo Pena Sr.

Galdino Lorenzo Pena Sr., age 86, was taken to heaven on September 24, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Manuela Cantu Pena, his children Jose Angel Pena and wife Ester, Justina Picon and husband Lupe, Galdino Lorenzo Pena Jr and wife Janie and Raymund Ray. He is also survived by 3 brothers. Galdino was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters and 1 grandchild.

Galdino was born in 1928 in Lockhart Texas to Lorenzo and Jovita Pena. He was a career plumber, with two of his sons employing the knowledge he instilled in them to become plumbers themselves. Despite his inclination to work tirelessly, he never neglected to make time for his family. He was a long standing member of St. Mary’s Catholic church and a Cursillista. He is and will be looked at fondly, as an embodiment of fatherhood; a portrait of what it means to be an honorable man. In addition to fathering four exceptional children, he was also able to witness the birth of many grandchildren; including Israel Pena, Joe Pena, Andrea Marie Pena, Thomas Picon, Larry Picon, the late Galdino Lorenzo Pena III (Trey), Daniel Joseph Pena, Cyndi Michelle McNary, Stephen Michael Pena, Reece Jimenez, Asia Jimenez, and great grandchildren; Tommy Picon Jr, Emily Claire Pena, Nehemiah Picon, Jamien Evans, Ava Pena and Alexa Pena.

Raymond Ray will be at Family residence due to health reasons.

Recitation of Rosary will be 6:00 PM Sunday at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Monday, September 29, 2014, St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
