On Monday, June 4, 2012 our beloved son Gavino “Ringo” Madrid made a final journey stepping into the world beyond to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who he knew so well. Gavino was the type of person that left a lasting impression and for that reason he was loved and cherished by so many. He was to begin his senior year next fall at Christoval High School. No doubt his teammates will miss his athletic abilities which were many, but he will have the greatest seat in the stands cheering his classmates on to victory. His peers praised him as an influential and respectable friend to everyone he met. Gavino had a strong faith expression in his God and was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. There he participated in many youth activities such as Altar Serving helping create the Miracle of the altar, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Life Teen, service projects such as Wesley Soup Kitchen, even serving Ice Cream at Marble Slab as recently as Sunday, June 3rd and many more activities. He will be remembered for that beautiful smile that always came from his heart full of love and for the compassion he showed others.
He leaves behind his parents, Pete and Becky Madrid, his sister Veronica Castorena, his brother and great friend Pete Madrid, Jr., his nephew Dylan Torres, his maternal grandfather Jesse Castorena, his paternal grandparents Lupe and Ramona Madrid, along with many aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Gloria Castorena.
Gavino “Ringo” will be deeply missed by ALL! If you want to remember and honor our son, do so by helping someone in need. That would thrill him and we know he will be smiling down upon you from the world beyond.
Services are scheduled at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 and Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
