Gilbert R. Juarez, Sr. of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born on February 14, 1964 in San Angelo, Texas to Marcelino & Juanita Martinez. Gilbert was a hard worker from a young age, mastering various skills over the years. He was also an excellent teacher who taught many family members the trades he learned throughout his life. Gilbert was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He instilled the importance of family into his loved ones, always saying that the family he made was everything to him. This included his dog, Rocky, who he loved more than anything. Gilbert was a joy to be around, his sense of humor brought smiles and laughter wherever he went. He will be greatly missed.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino & Juanita Martinez; parent-in-laws, Leon & Ascencion Medina; and brothers, Marcelino Martinez, Ben Martinez, and Alejandro Rodriguez.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lurdes Juarez; daughters, Vanessa Juarez, and Valeria Juarez; son, Gilbert Juarez, Jr.; grandchildren, Adrian Parras, Andrew Parras, and Jimi Parras; brothers, Andy Juarez, Sam Juarez, Henry Reyes, Daniel Martinez, and Jose Martinez; sisters, Mary Jane Rawlings, Delilah Reyes, Vicki Rosas, Angel Alvarado, Margaret Gonzales, Candy Lara, Amelia Lopez, and Olivia Reyes; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held at 6 PM on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 am on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow services at Belvedere Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Larry Trevino, Antonio Medina, Henry Reyes, Adam Juarez, Hector Zamora, and Larry Lambert.
