

Hazel Crockett Atnipp of San Angelo passed away Monday, April 22, 2013. Hazel was born January 5, 1915 in Norton, TX to the late T.H. (Shug) and Faye Bass Crockett. She attended and graduated from Ballinger High School in 1933. Hazel married William F. (Jack) Atnipp on May 27, 1933, they were married 66 years. Jack passed away on December 3, 1999. She was a mother, a housewife and later employed by Percy’s Dry Goods, M.L. Leddy’s and Hudman Drug Store, all in San Angelo, TX. In 1972 they retired and moved to Norton, Texas only to return to San Angelo 10 years later and resided at the Rio Concho Manor Retirement Center, where she was presently living. Hazel enjoyed the companionship of her friends, family, card games, puzzles and the activities in the Manor. She was an active member of the Business Men Bible Class. Hazel’s family consisted of the oldest child was Elizabeth Ann Atnipp, whom is deceased. Surviving children are; Thomas Jack Atnipp and wife Patricia of Easley, S.C., Dollie Jo Adams of San Angelo, TX and special friend James Walker of Maverick, TX; Margie Faye Bryan and husband Thomas H. Bryan all of San Angelo, TX. She had many grandchildren her “South Carolina and Georgia” grandkids are Randy D. Atnipp, William J. (Bill) Atnipp, Tammy J. Finley and husband Joey and Kimbery Atnipp. There are seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren residing on the east coast. Her grandchildren of Texas consist of Matt Adams and wife Joyce of Big Lake, TX, Thomas H. Bryan II and wife Segelle of Baird, TX and Justin B. Bryan and wife Marcy of Tuscola, TX There are five great grandchildren of Texas. They are Kalie Adams of Abilene, TX, Zachary Adams of Big Lake, TX, Mackenzie, Wyatt and Samuel Bryan of Tuscola, TX who loved her as “Grandma Hazel.” Graveside service will be officiated by Darrell Smith and Charles Smith with special music by EW Essensee, at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 in Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger. Pallbearers will be Thomas Bryan, Thomas Bryan II, Justin Bryan, Matt Adams, Zach Adams and James Walker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wyatt Bryan and Samuel Bryan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
