

Hollis Alfred Stewart, 64, of San Angelo, passed away on February 8th, 2016. Visitation will be held 6-8pm on Friday, February 12th, 2016 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Procession will follow and the graveside service will take place at Belvedere Cemetery. Hollis was born in San Angelo, TX to Myrtle Marie and Raymond Henry Stewart on September 12th, 1951. He is a graduate of Central High School, and after, began a career as a welder. Hollis worked for many years with Hirschfeld Steel, helping build their Fort Stockton office. He married Joy Denise Williams on May 27th, 1980 in San Angelo, TX. Hollis was a test driver for Goodyear Proving Grounds for over 20 years. While working for Goodyear, he gained certification as an EMT/Instructor and went on to pilot a program there to instruct and certify his peers. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed roller skating, attending football games, and spending time with his family. He was known by many as a man with a great sense of humor, always the clown in the room who enjoyed making others smile and laugh. His work ethic, sense of humor, and care for all those around him is the legacy he leaves behind. Hollis is preceded in death by his mother Marie, father Raymond, brother Raymond Daniel, sister Joyce Ruth, and several close friends and family members that he deeply loved. Hollis is survived by his wife of 35 years Joy Denise Williams Stewart of San Angelo; his son Eric Lacey Stewart and wife Kari Shaun Kiolbassa Stewart of San Antonio, daughters Chandra Kay Stewart Saurwein and husband Daniel of Fort Bragg, NC, and Amanda Carin Stewart of San Angelo. He is also survived by his brothers Elvis Lee Stewart and wife Vada, Robert Lynn Stewart and wife Valinda, and Marshall Wayne Stewart and wife Brenda, all of San Angelo.
