Ilse B Radford

Ilse Stahl was born in Schweinfurt, Germany on November 23, 1930 to the late, Hulda and Joseph Stall. She came to San Angelo, Texas in 1966. Although Ilse was born and raised in Germany, she was a true Texan at heart. Ilse retired after many years of service at the State School in Carlsbad, where she worked as a direct care aide. She was a longtime volunteer for R.S.V.P. at Santa Fe Crossing for many years where she loved to play dominoes. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and of quarterback, Tony Romo.

Ilse is survived by her sons, George Jeffery Radford and Ronald Radford and his wife, Dorrie all of San Angelo; step-sons, Joe Radford of Orlando, FL, John Radford and his wife, Cheryl of Mary Esther, FL; two grandsons, Clifton Radford of New Castle, IN and David Radford of Wilson, NC; four granddaughters, Candice Radford of Lewisville, IN, Ashley Brewer of Wilson, NC,Chloe Radford of Mary Esther, FL, and Kaylie Birdzell of Orange, CA; three great grandchildren, Zoë Radford of New Castle, IN and Lacey and Braden Brewer of Wilson, NC; brother-in-law, Roger Bonk; niece, Diane and nephew, Steve of Twin Falls, WI; as well as numerous other relatives and friends, including her dogs, Beau, Tex and Lucky.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Willie whom were all of Schweinfurt Germany, sisters, Elfriede and Hildegard; and daughter, Patricia Ann Radford.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Dorrie and Ms. Merle Cuellar as well as Margaret, Ruby, Pearl and Inez, for their loving care of Ilse. Special thanks also to her long time doctor, Dr. Carl Anderton and Nurse Penny, as well as the staff of Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care. Thanks to the Meals for the Elderly, especially Kevin who was her favorite and special friend, Mrs. Toney Gonzalez, Farther Santiago, and Father Francis. Ms. Ilse will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

There will be a time of visitation where the family will receive guests from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2017 at Johnson’s Funeral Home of San Angelo. There will be a private graveside service held in Fairmount Cemetery, per Ilse’s wishes.
