

Imelda Hart Granzin, 92, died September 10, 2013, at her home in Miles. She was born in Miles on May 25, 1921, the fifth child of Royal Flernoy and Florence M. Hart. She graduated Miles High School in 1939 and attended San Angelo Business College. She married Raymond Granzin on November 27, 1943, prior to his deployment with the US Army Air Force in World War II. They were the owners and operators of the Ideal Food Store in Miles, and in later years raised sheep and cattle on their stock farm north of Miles. Imelda was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. Her greatest Joy in her later years was as a grandmother to her two grandsons, whom she willingly and lovingly babysat, cooked for, played with, and read to , as they grew up. She is survived by her husband, Raymond, her son and daughter-in-law, Kendal and Carol Granzin of Miles, and her grandsons, Hunter Bryan Granzin, and Nathan Hart Granzin, both of San Angelo. Also surviving are four sisters-in-law, Gladys Hart, of San Angelo, Jody Hart of Chicago, Ill., Bettye Hart of Littlefield, and Sue Granzin, of Baton Rouge, La., and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and three brothers. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Miles United Methodist Church in Miles with interment to follow in Miles Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hunter Granzin, Nathan Granzin, Bobby Joe Kasberg, Joe Nation, John Nation, Stacy Granzin, Gary Granzin, and Charles Ehrig.
