

Irene Josephine Braden, 80, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 3, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. The Rosary will be 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Sacred Heart Cathedral with Rev. Tom Barley as celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Irene was born October 30, 1932 in Moulton, Texas to Val F. and Annie Kubecek Kozelsky. She grew up in San Angelo and attended school at Fairview. She met and later married the love of her life M.L. Braden on April 16, 1953 here in San Angelo. In 1965, Irene went to work for the Levi Strauss Company where she worked as a seamstress and later a quality control manager for over 34 years. She retired from there in 1997. Irene was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She loved spending time with all her family and especially being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Irene also enjoyed sewing and traveling and being with her friends playing dominoes at Holy Angels. She had an incredibly loving and giving nature about her along with a terrific sense of humor and a great accent. We will dearly miss her.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband M.L. Braden, her son Karl Braden, three brothers, Henry, Joe and Julius Kozelsky, and two sisters, Henrietta Franke and Gertrude Heinrich. She is survived by her children, Clarice Wilde and her husband Tony, of Wall, Miron Braden, of San Angelo and Robert Braden and his wife Rebecca, of Wall; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Braden, of San Angelo; her Grandchildren, Robin Taylor and her husband Ken, of San Angelo, Nicole Klinesmith and her husband Eric, of San Angelo, Andy Braden and his wife Ashley, of Dallas, Cory Braden, of Dallas, Brandy Braden, of San Angelo, Casey Braden, of Wall, and her Step-grandson, Jonathan Ubando, of Wall; her 5 great grandchildren ; her sisters, Georgia Mae Pohl, of Monroe, LA, Anita Schaefer, of Ballinger, Virginia Klepac and her husband Eddie, of San Angelo and her sisters-in-law, Doreen Kozelsky, of Winters, and Dottie Kozelsky, of San Angelo. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and close friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be Mike Kozelsky, Donald Braden, Henry Klepac, Aaron Braden, Roy Schaefer and Wayne Franke. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
