James Harold Freitag

Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mertzon Cemetery.

Jimmy was born on July 31, 1937 to Bill and Nannie (Pomeroy) Freitag in Mertzon. He was a graduate of Mertzon, remaining friends with many of his childhood friends throughout the years. He enlisted and served with the Navy in July of 1955.

Jimmy was employed with Bell Helicopter as a maintenance mechanic for 19 years, after retirement he was self employed in various jobs. His passions were music and fishing, he loved to play keyboard and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his children, Tom Freitag of Olathe, Kansas, Ronnie Freitag of Mertzon, Trudy Erisman of Olathe, Kansas, Don Freitag of Arlington, Texas, Tod Freitag of Blue Springs, Missouri and Bob Freitag of Mertzon; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren along with many friends and extended family members.
