Jan has gone home to the Heaven she longed for. She passed from her earthly life on December 14, 2011 at the age of eighty-seven. As a sinner saved by God's grace, she has now been welcomed into the joy of her Lord.
Jan lived a rich, full life. She was a strong and independent woman with a brilliant mind. She valued the freedom she enjoyed as a self-employed business woman. She and her late husband, Walt, were pioneers and leaders in the direct selling industry.
Jan loved her friends and her family. She also loved the five Chinese Pug dogs that were her companions over the years; Jan's last Pug, Mitchell, has been adopted by her dear friend, Janet.
Jan is survived by her son, Mark, and his wife Susan; her two granddaughters, Laura Fidelie and her husband, Tony, and Rachel Woods. Jan's brothers, Ken Luker and Garry Luker also survive her. Her sister, Brownie Dewbre, predeceased her.
Jan's family sincerely thanks all of the people who cared for Jan so wonderfully during her illness: the staff at Shannon Medical Center, St. John's, Baptist Retirement Community, Rotary House of Hope and Baptist Memorials Hospice. We also owe a special thanks to Jan's loving caregiver, Gloria.
There will be a graveside service for Jan on December 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Early, Texas at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Jan's remains will be buried next to the grave of her husband, Walt, and near those of her parents, Raymond and Brownie Luker, and her sister, Brownie Ray Dewbre and her husband, Norman.
Arrangements will be handled by Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo.
